The National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) Banned Sanjita chanu for failing dope test. Two times Commonwealth Games champion failed dope test September-October last year during the in-competition testing at the National School Games in Gujarat. The Indian Weightlifing Federation president Sahdev Yadav confirmed the decision. Chanu can appeal against this decision. Chanu has tested positive for an anarobic steroid Drostanolone Metabolite which features in the World Anti Doping Agency prohibited list.
This is big blow for Sanjita as she will be stripped off silver medal won in the National Games as a result of positive test.1
